Guthrie (newborn screening) card. After collection, wrap the Guthrie card in paper towelling and staple to the request card.
Do not place in plastic sample bags until the Guthrie card is completely dry (at least 4 hours).
For diagnosis, samples taken during acute episodes are most suitable.
